August is proud to be the first S2 Z-Wave Plus smart lock certified by the Z-Wave Alliance. By incorporating Z-Wave technology, you can now connect your August Smart Lock Pro with your Z-Wave home automation hubs. The August Smart Lock Pro is compatible with all commercial Z-Wave hubs like Wink, SmartThings and others. We are also capable of communicating with your Z-Wave enabled security panel. Check with your security provider for specific instructions on how to add the August Smart Lock Pro to your home security system.

  

Z-Wave devices are rated an S0 or S2 for their security framework protocol. S2 is a new more secured protocol that comes with the added security of a 5-digit Device Specific Key (DSK). If you are connecting your August Smart Lock Pro to a Z-Wave hub that utilizes the S2 security protocol, you may be asked to enter the 5 digit DSK that is specific to each August Smart Lock on your hub. This is found in one of two places:

  

1.  On the outside of the packaging on the printed retail serial label; or
2.  On the inside of the battery faceplate.
