Many Smart Alerts appear in the Activity Feed. Smart Alert options currently include manual lock events, user specific lock operations, notifications for when a door is left open ([Wi-Fi Smart Lock](https://august.com/products/august-wifi-smart-lock) / [3rd Gen Smart Lock](https://august.com/products/august-smart-lock-connect) / [Smart Lock Pro](https://august.com/products/august-smart-lock-pro-connect) only), Auto-Lock notifications, and door locking with One-Touch Keypad operation (requires [August Smart Keypad](https://august.com/products/august-smart-keypad)). Over time, additional notifications and scheduling options will be added. For the best Smart Alerts experience, we recommend that you pair August Smart Lock with August Connect. Select either iOS or Android (depending on your device) for information about smart alerts as well as steps to set them up. [iOS](#) [Android](#) ## iOS ### Types of Smart Alerts On launch, users can select from five alerts: **The Door is locked or unlocked manually** * This alert notifies you when someone operates the August Smart Lock manually by hand or using a key. **The door is locked or unlocked by a specific user** * This alert notifies you when a specified guest or owner operates the lock via Bluetooth. This includes unlocking the lock using the app or Auto-Unlock. **The door is left ajar (3rd Gen Smart Lock and Smart Lock Pro only)** * This alert notifies you if the door is left open for a specific amount of time. Specify the amount of time in the lock settings. **The door is Auto-Locked** * This alert notifies you when your August Smart Lock Auto-Locks. Auto-Lock can be set up in the lock settings page. **The door is One-Touch Keypad locked (only if August Smart Keypad paired with lock)** * This alert notifies you when the August Smart Lock is locked using the One-Touch Lock feature on the August Smart Keypad. ### Creating Smart Alerts Smart Alerts can be found in the Notifications section of your Lock Settings menu. To enable smart alerts: 1. Open the August App and select a Home from the Keychain 2. Navigate to the Settings Menu ⚙ 3. Select a Lock in House Settings 4. Select Smart Alerts 5. Select the blue button that says "Create a Smart Alert" 6. Next, select “Choose an event” to choose which event triggers the smart alert 7. To enable smart alerts: 1. Open the August App and navigate to the Lock Settings 2. Select Smart Alerts 3. Select the yellow plus (+) sign to create a new Smart Alert 4. Next, select “Choose an event” to choose which event triggers the smart alert ![android smart alerts](https://cdn.prod2.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/5f6cab56313fd9001af97923/dc45eb8d2ab1c03e200eec20ab7fcdb3.jpg) ### Modifying and Deleting Smart Alerts Delete existing alerts at any time from the Smart Alerts page in the notifications section of Lock Settings. All of your Smart Alerts are listed on the Smart Alerts page. To modify these notifications, tap on any of the notifications. You will be given the option to delete the selected notification by tapping the delete button at the bottom of the page. Finally, confirm that you would like to delete the notification. You will no longer receive the notification following this action. ### Not Receiving Smart Alerts Most Smart Alerts require that your August Smart Lock is set up with the August Connect Wi-Fi Bridge. If your Smart Lock is not set up with the August Connect, you will not receive most alerts unless you are connected to your lock via Bluetooth.
