We appreciate your patience as we perfect the August App with iOS 13 in mind. In the meantime, we have some tried and true workarounds that should improve your experience. ## What is new in the August App with the release of iOS 13? The biggest update with iOS 13 is the New User Interface (UI). The new UI uses a Pop-over style, which is a change from the fullscreen mode of previous iOS versions. The Pop-over style allows you the option to manually dismiss the view by dragging down on the top bar. Currently, there are a few areas where this does not work optimally with the August App. We are working on updates to mitigate inconsistencies. The Location Services Permissions have changed with the new iOS. Location Services Permissions will prompt you to update your location permissions to “Allow While Using App”, “Allow Once” or “Don’t Allow” on initial install. If you update the Location Services Permissions to anything other than Always access, certain features, such as Auto-Unlock, will not work. To update the Location Services permissions for the August App, open the phone’s Settings → Select the August App → Select Location and then tap “Always”. These settings can also be adjusted in the Privacy Settings: Open the phone's Settings → Select Privacy → Select Location Services → Select "Always". ## What should I do if Auto-Unlock stops working? Changes to Location Services Permissions will impact [Auto-Unlock performance](https://support.august.com/how-does-auto-unlock-work--HJELxRwlB). In order for Auto-Unlock to work, you need to set your permissions to allow “Always” access. If you are having issues with the Guest Access screen, dismiss the screen by dragging down from the top bar. If you tap the back button, this causes the user interface to disappear and the app will become unusable. You need to force quit the app and reopen it to start over. ## How do location settings impact the functionality of Wi-Fi devices? Location must be enabled for your August Wi-Fi devices to work correctly.
