The August Doorbell Cam Chime Power Board is designed to reduce or eliminate doorbell "humming" that sometimes happens when a smart doorbell system has been installed. It works by allowing the August Doorbell Cam to draw the power it needs to run, while regulating the amount of current sent to the actual doorbell chime.

### Installing the Chime Power Board

1.  Locate a Phillips screwdriver.
2.  Locate your doorbell chime - It's often at a high point in the home such as above a door (you may need to follow where the sound comes from by ringing your chime).
3.  Open the doorbell chime box.
4.  Loosen the two screws holding the current doorbell wiring in place.(The screws are typically labeled "TRANS" for Transformer and "FRONT" for Front Door)
5.  Take one of the wires from the Power Board (either is fine - the wires of the bypass board have no polarity and either wire can be connected to either screw). Place the U-shaped "hook" end of the wire over the existing doorbell wire.Press very firmly until the hook pops into place over the existing wire (you're actually forcing the hook to stretch out, so be prepared to used a lot of force to get the hook onto the screw).
6.  Repeat this process with the other wire.
7.  If needed, slightly re-tighten the screws over the hooks and doorbell wires.
8.  Use the provided tape to tuck the board itself into an empty space inside or outside the chime, then replace the chime cover and close the doorbell chime box.
