August Gen 1 Doorbell Cam supports 16-24v AC wired doorbells and August Doorbell Cam Pro supports 12-24v AC wired doorbells.

The August Doorbell Cameras only work with mechanical chimes

If your existing doorbell has a speaker, it is a digital chime and August Doorbell Cameras are not compatible. If it has a mechanical mechanism (usually in the form of two pistons that strike metallic keys), it's a compatible mechanical chime. You'll need to ensure that your doorbell is getting 16-24V for Gen 1 Doorbell Cam and 12-24V for Doorbell Cam Pro from the transformer.
