If you receive a **Cannot Connect to Lock** error message while you are trying to create, modify, or delete an entry code, it means you do not currently have a connection with your Smart Lock.

  

Personal entry codes for your [August Smart Keypad](https://august.com/products/august-smart-keypad) can be created, modified, and deleted from anywhere with a Wi-Fi bridge such as an [August Connect](https://august.com/products/august-connect) or August Doorbell Cam, and the most recent version of the August App.

  

Without a Wi-Fi bridge such as an August Connect or August Doorbell Cam, personal entry codes can only be created when you are connected to your August Smart Lock via Bluetooth.
